Progress Power Ltd, a subsidiary business of Watt Power Ltd, wishes to build a gas-fired power station on land located on the Eye Airfield Industrial Estate in Suffolk. The land is part of an area identified for energy use by Mid Suffolk District Council. If built, the Progress Power plant will generate sufficient power to supply the equivalent of 400,000 homes when required, and employ management and maintenance staff of up to 15 people. Subject to planning and financing, the power station would enter commercial operation in 2018.
